Logic 8 has an environment window which allows for patching of MIDI effects. Taken from the Apple Logic 8 video tutorial, taught by Patrick Copeland, this out-take shows you how to patch the Arpeggiator, Chord Memorizer, Virtual Patch Cables and Object List. This feature is really useful for heavily sequenced tracks. I know Logic is recognized as the industry standard but man alive that’s complicated and restrictive compared to Sonar. With Sonar it’s “insert Soft Synth” “add Midi Effect” and it arppegiates at the correct tempo without having to press play. Everything is sync-locked unless you choose not to, all from the same view complete with GUI’s. I know sonar’s had it’s share of stability issues in the past but the more I see of logic, the more I appreciate Sonar. I wish they made a Mac version though.
Fantastic introduction to the CHORD MEMORIZER. Would really appreciate some info on the objects in between the arp and the chord memorizer but in the meantime i will try & figure them out myself.
